Nathan East Performs at the White House

"There's the president and first lady, front row center, five, six feet away from us, enjoying a night of music, and to stand on that stage and play for them and get a wink and a thumbs up is pretty surreal." - Nathan East

When he's not recording new lessons and Video Exchanges for his online bass students at ArtistWorks, Nathan East is always keeping busy. Not only has he played with some of the biggest names in the music business, he's been invited to Washington, D.C. multiple times to play for several presidents. You can see him in the background of the video above during President Obama's introduction for the event "A Celebration of American Creativity," which took place last October. He recently did an interivew with allmusic.com where he talks about playing at the White House, including the time Bill Clinton jammed with him on sax!
