Since there was no October newsletter - here is ALL the news from Music Matters and our network of choirs throughout Dublin, from the past 2 months!

2) Our Wednesday evening choir has moved (again!)
On Wednesday 4th November, we moved to St Michael's House Services for People with Intellectual Disabilities - Head Offices, Ballymun Road, Dublin 9
Rehearsals will take place there on Wednesdays from 6.00 - 8.00 PM
3) Parent & Baby/ Toddler Music Classes
These Music classes are suitable for Babies and Toddlers, between 1 and 3 years old. The sessions will be facilitated by Danusia Oslizlok, an experienced and highly qualified Music Therapist
These classes will take place at The Grainstore - DLR Youth Arts Facility, Cabinteely Park, Dublin 18 from Thursday 12th November
4) Cabinteely Teenage Choir
This choir will be Directed by Leanne O'Doherty, who is already running our Inclusive Children's Choir at The Grainstore with great success - Limited places are also available in this choir for the next term of rehearsals
The Teenage Choir is open to 13 - 18 year olds - No audition necessary!
5) Music Matters attend Dublin 2020 Launch
On Wednesday 23rd September, Music Matters were invited to the Official Launch of Dublin's bid to be appointed as European Capital of Culture in 2020
6) Musical Memories Choirs celebrate 2nd Birthday
On Thursday 24th September and Saturday 26th September, the Musical Memories choirs in Deansgrange and Stillorgan both celebrated their 2nd Birthdays
7) Memory Lane Choir - Official Launch
On Wednesday 7th October, the Memory Lane Choir had their Inaugural Concert / Official Launch at St Agnes' Community Centre for Music & the Arts in Crumlin
8) World Mental Health Week at Temple Street
On Friday 9th October, some members of our Work Options and Wednesday evening choirs sang at a Concert in Temple Street Children's University Hospital
We were invited to sing at a Lunchtime Concert - part of a week-long series of events held in Temple Street to mark World Mental Health Week
9) DLR Big Sing at Dun Laoghaire Shopping Centre
On Sunday 11th October, the first ever Big Sing! event took place at Dun Laoghaire Shopping Centre
This event was part of the Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council "Festival of Inclusion" - a week-long series of events, organised in partnership with Core Credit Union
This family-friendly event featured songs from musicals spanning back almost 80 years!
10) Launch of St Michael's House Turas Centre Community Garden
On Thursday 22nd October, Music Matters was invited to sing at the Official Launch of the "Seed to Fork" Community Garden project.
This Launch took place at the St Michael's House Turas Centre on the Grosvenor Road in Rathgar, Dublin 6
This project was generously supported by Aviva Ireland - over 50 volunteers from Aviva, along with the Young Adults with intellectual disabilities who attend Turas, the St Michael's House staff and volunteers worked diligently from June to October, to bring this fantastic project to fruition
